Delta is used throughout the world in many different environments from Full dome 3d planetaria used for visualisation to video wall displays at some of the busiest airports in the world. Below are some of the most common uses for Delta. To find out how Delta is used in each sector click the 'tell me more' button.
Full Dome & Planetariums
Tell Me MoreFull Dome display systems offer experiental immersion for the audience, surrounding them with rich imagery and sound. Delta Media Server has an inherent full dome mode in which media is placed intutively around the screen. A virtual display model is held inside delta, providing automatic geometric correction, but additional comprehensive point and polynomial distortion correction, colour adjustment and edge blending is also available for fine picture tuning.
Live Events
Tell Me MoreLive Events have their own unique pressures. From unexpected integration issues, media which arrives late and a show which can change up to the last minute and even during the show, a flexible media source is essential to cope with all of these. Our Delta Media Server has been successfully fielded in Live Events since 2005, and our ever-increasing base of live events specialists push us hard to add the features they need for each show which often has unique requirements.
Custom Media Serving
Tell Me MoreWe are always interested in extending our product line, and as such are open to suggestions for new features or custom requirements. A prime example of this philosophy is the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, who required a giant beating heart projected onto a custom 3D formed mesh screen. To meet the requirements, we had to extend our 3D screen mesh import and add variable playback rate in sync with a visitor's heartbeat.
Visitor Attractions
Tell Me MoreCreating a compelling visitor attraction is important in order to maximise the visitor's experience and enjoyment of the show. Our experience suggests that maximum image quality is important since people easily see visual artefacts caused by compression, misalignment or non-smooth playback, leading to a decline in viewer involvement. Our media servers are designed to provide constant rate, high quality movie playback with low or no compression.
Retail
Tell Me MoreDigital Signage installations offer a high impact attraction for advertisors, engaging the viewer with innovative graphical adverts. Delta Media Server provides a high quality image source with low cost due to its high channel count from a single Delta PC. Integrated within a content management system, Delta provides full external control over media playback, placement and timing, and additionally the comprehensive display matching abilities allow Delta to display moving content across flat panel arrays in any orientation, taking care of bezel gaps within our overall graphical canvas.
Digital Cinema
Tell Me More
Digital Cinema is a long sought after goal of the Audio Visual community, replacing complicated film based technology with digital projectors and PC based media serving or 2D mono and 3D stereo films, increasing the image quality and decreasing costs. Delta has now been successfully running within large format domes since 2006, and as part of our new Intensity3D concept, it is possible to offer encrypted movie playback from Delta matched to a stacked-projector display system for the required high brightness and fidelity, integrated as a single coherent digital movie source.
